If you live on the western side of Pennsylvania, sharing information about the eastern side of Pennsylvania is essential. When people came to America in the 1700’s and 1800’s, they came to a port on the coast and used horse pulled wagons, then much later, trains, to make their way west. They often moved with other families. There is a lot to learn with Pennsylvania families and the North Hills Genealogists has a group that just focuses on it. They have a monthly meeting and are looking at doing organized trips to repositories and historical sites. If you live in the Pittsburgh area, I’d highly suggested hooking into a group that looks deeply into PA. Next meeting is Wednesday, March 27th, 6pm at the Northland Public Library. North Hills Genealogists hosts many other meetings and offers online courses too. Their website is very well organized and has helpful information northhillsgenealogists.org and their lists of meetings and events are here.
