On January 1st I feel the possibility and potential of the year ahead. Everyone I know talks of their future plans and new goals for the year. Part of my goals this year involve setting new habits and limits in my day.
Here’s mine for January:
- Publish one blog post Monday-Friday.
- Write at least 30 minutes per day.
- Read at least 60 minutes per day.
- Limit social media to 20 minutes or less per day.
- Exercise at least 30 minutes per day.
The writing and publishing habit will develop my writing skills and enable me to share great finds on Pennsylvania genealogy research. The reading habit will develop my depth of knowledge and analyzing ability to solve complex problems. Exercising is fundamental to my well-being because it clears my head and helps me sleep better. Of course, I don’t have time for any new habit if I’m scrolling on social media, so I’m making a drastic cut to my time there.
On January 31st I’ll evaluate how I did on these habits. I’ll add, delete or change for February 2020.
