October is American Archives Month
October is special to genealogists and family historians for one reason - a celebration of archives and their collections!

Pennsylvania's most densely populated place for archives is Philadelphia. (No surprise there!) And in Philly style, they celebrate with a full slate of events each year, called Archives Month Philly. Some events are in-person, some virtual, and some hybrid. The full calendar and ticket information is available on the website.
Personally, I'll be virtually attending a lecture by the Mercer Museum in Bucks County. It's entitled "Mercer Museum Research Library: History on Our Shelves" and promises to tell me why the Buck County courthouse records are housed at the Mercer Museum. Inquiring minds want to know!
Perhaps I'll see you on the Zoom lecture too on Tuesday, October 11th! And if you know of any other fun events to share, please let me know.
